Directions to Agimac River Outfitters

 

We are less than a day's drive from many US Midwest cities. All main highways and roads in our area are paved. From the US, there are three border crossings - at International Falls, Minnesota, Baudette, Minnesota and Pigeon River. If you are flying, you can fly into International Falls, Minnesota, Thunder Bay, Ontario or Winnipeg, Manitoba. From there you can rent a car or van or use a shuttle service to get to us.

Directions from Thunder Bay, Ontario

From Thunder Bay, head west on Highway 11/17. When the highway separates, follow Highway 17 west to Ignace. At Ignace, take Highway 599 north approximately 3 miles. A sign will be visible for Agimac River Outfitters. Turn left off Hwy 599 at the sign and then bear right onto the 325 road. There is a small road sign with 325 road on it. Follow this road for approximately 16 miles.

Below is a map showing how to cut across on Hwy 130 if you are coming through Pigeon River border crossing on Hwy 61. It saves at least a half hour in travel time allowing you to bypass Thunder Bay.

From Pigeon River Border crossing, it is approximately 27 miles to Hwy 130. Turn left on Hwy 130 and travel 3.1 miles to a stop sign. Turn left on Barrie Road and travel 1.7 miles to River Road. It is a very small road sign and easy to miss. Turn right on River Road and travel 3.4 miles to Hwy 588. Turn right on 588, crossing the bridge and traveling to the next stop sign, about 1.1 miles. Turn left on Hwy 11/17 and head toward Kakabeka.

Directions from the International Falls/Fort Frances border

From the Fort Frances border crossing, travel straight ahead on Mowat. Go to the second stoplight and turn right on Second Street. Continue on Second Street to the end. Turn left on Colonization Rd. which is also Highway 11. Drive 17.5 miles on Highway 11 until you see a sign to turn left on Highway 502 to Dryden. Take Highway 502 to Dryden. This is a ruggedly beautiful highway with no sign of civilization until you get to Dryden, about two hours later. When you come to a stop sign, turn right on Highway 594. Follow this to the stoplight and go straight on through traveling on Duke Street. When you come to the overpass over the train tracks, get in the right lane to turn onto Highway 17 going east. Stay on Highway 17 to Ignace which will take a little over an hour. When you get to Ignace, you will see a sign for Highway 599 at the far end of town. Turn left on Highway 599, travel about 2 miles and you will see the sign directing you to turn left onto the 325 road that leads to our camp.
